Things move fast in the minors, and lately I just haven’t been able to keep up. I’ll try to do better. Here’s what you need to know as we open the week-long home stand versus Indy and Louisville, that takes us right through the Memorial Day holiday:
RHP Wander Perez is gone, as is RHP Dalier Hinojosa (DL) and LHP Mario Hollands (Rea). RHP Nick Pivetta returns from the Majors, and RHP Ricardo Pinto appears headed for relief duties. RHP Colton Murray is headed out to help the Reading relievers. 2B Jesmuel Valentin has been on the DL with a shoulder, and we’ve recently learned that he will have surgery and will likely miss the rest of the season. For now, phenom 2B Scotty Kingery will remain in Reading while Featherston, Florimon, and Gomez get the reps around here. But, that move is on the horizon.

EDIT: In another late move before tonight’s game, LHP Adam Morgan was again re-called to Philadelphia as an extra lefty while OF Daniel Nava heads to the DL with a hammy. Watch for an OF to get hot over the next few days, and if he has a 40-man spot he could find himself in Philly.
If you haven’t heard, the team is as hot as we’ve ever had right now, having gone 17-3 thus far in the month of May. More on the players and the opponent in a bit.
After a couple days off, Dylan Cozens returns to the lineup tonight, as we’ll be having the pitchers bat this entire set:
Tonight: Jewish Heritage Night
Wednesday: Youth Cap / Heroes
Thursday: Pirates and Princesses / Happy Hour
Friday: Rolling Stones Fireworks
Saturday: Bacon v. Tacos, Fireworks, Cap Raffle
Sunday: Tom Petty Fireworks, Special 6:35PM game time!
Monday: Camo Cap (Adults) / Military Appreciation / Pre-game NoiseNation BBQ! (stay tuned)
The red-hot Indianapolis Indians (AAA-Pirates) are in town having matched our 9-1 in the last 10. You’ll recognize IL vet RHP Drew Hutchison, as well as RHP Pat Light on the mound. Former Braves prospect Joey Terdoslavich may be at 1B, and OF prospect Austin Meadows should be in CF. Left-Right-Left fan Eury Perez will be in the OF as well. Welcome him loudly; he loves us!
Louisville (Reds) will follow starting on Friday. Perhaps I’ll get to a preview around then.
Expect a rehab appearance for OF/2B Howie Kendrick during this home stand. Nothing official yet, though.
See you at the park,
I may try something new, “Blog From The Bar.” We’ll see how that goes, but should allow me to keep you informed better. Tonight I may try to concentrate on some individual players.
Or, follow along on Twitter @Kram209 I’ve been more active there, lately.
