Here we go again.

Hopefully Pigs Nation will do a better job choosing here, compared with Left Field.  The choices are a bit odd again, as Brian Bogusevic and Cam Perkins aren’t really center fielders, per se, but I can see that they are good and popular guys to at least get a “nomination.”  There aren’t many who would remember Kyle Hudson, right?

Brandon Watson had his moments on that inaugural squad in 2008, but that team didn’t start winning until the promotion of one Rich Thompson.   Over the past couple seasons, Rich has even come back to the park to say hello to staff and fans, despite his retirement from baseball and his home in Florida.  Of course he’s among our all-time favorites–plus he’s the only American Ninja–so he gets the endorsement.

  1. Agree with you 150% on this! Not only is Rich one of the friendliest and most caring ‘Pigs ever, he also dominated in center field. He had a rocket arm (saw him make a perfect throw home once to nail a runner trying to score), a good bat and speed on the bases.
