“Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday’s success or put its failures behind and start over again. That’s the way life is, with a new game every day, and that’s the way baseball is. ”
Yesterday I said we needed a new “ace,” with Jake Thompson off to Philadelphia by way of San Diego. Enter Adam Morgan. Morgan had a no-hitter going–at least deep enough in the game to make us not want to change our seats or say the wrong words…
But the bats got going and that helped everyone in the 7-2 IronPigs victory over Rochester.
The team remains 2.0 games back of division leader Scranton, but opens the Wild Card margin to 4.5 over the Red Wings.

Good to get the win last night and get off the schnide. Hearing good things vis-a-vis quotes out of the locker room about the confidence and resolve of the team. It was only three games in the losing streak, but with roster fluctuations continuing, I have to admit I was worried (still am) about an extended losing stretch that might knock us out of playoff contention.
Sunday Fun Day as we get to watch Ben pitch and then head over to the Soul game where they take on a 2-13 team in the first round of the playoffs. 2-13? Sheesh, feel like my $55 tickets (plus fees) might be a tad over-priced up in here.
See you at the park–and the arena,
