“I’ve found that you don’t need to wear a necktie if you can hit.”
The IronPigs return from northern New York with a 2-1 record during the most important 13 games of the season. It’s on, now, with the RailRiders as only one game separates the teams in the standings, with the Moosic squad having the current advantage.
The RailRiders come in having just dropped three in a row in P’tucket. While their rotation is in a bit of an upheaval with the recent call up of Luis Severino and yesterday’s trade of Vincente Campos, they do get a new pitcher on board in RHP Ben Heller, and a top-prospect OF in Clint Frazier. Aaron Judge remains on the DL with a knee.
IronRail Series: 4-5 (of 18 regular season. May include playoffs this year?)
We await any trades, and fallout which may impact the IronPigs roster. They are currently one short at 24 following the Featherston promotion. INF/OF Darnell Sweeney sprained an ankle early in yesterday’s game in Rochester; the severity is not known.
First Pitch: 7:05PM, Gates: 5:45PM, Club: 5:30PM
Tickets still remain for this game, but the good ones are going fast.
LHP Adam Morgan (4-1, 3.79) takes the mound for the home IronPigs; RHP Brady Lail (4-2, 3.21) toes the rubber for the visiting RailRiders

This is one that I wish I had written, a Greg Joyce piece about how little Minor League players are paid.
