Hinojosa will wear uniform #38 while he’s here.  Elvis Araujo will likely reclaim #54  when he reports, and a corresponding move will need to be made.

So Elvis isn’t in the building yet….and we wait based on the “Luna Clause” although I couldn’t resist the title.

On the face of it, I’m not a big fan of the pending move.  We’re going to need another starter for the IronPigs at some point.  James Russell might need to move back to the ‘pen.  Anthony Vasquez might need to move back to Reading, or to the ‘pen.  David Buchanan, Jake Thompson, and Ben Lively might be needed in Philadelphia.  If he gets on track, Adam Morgan might be needed in Philadelphia as well, as a starter.  And, if you are going to convert Morgan to a reliever, why not do it at AAA first?  Nick Pivetta is next up from Reading, but what if he’s not quite ready?  I’m just not completely giving up on Adam Morgan as a starting pitcher.  We gave up on Ryan Vogelsong once, and look how that turned out.

But, maybe I’m jumping the gun.  Perhaps moving to the ‘pen in Philly will be a way for Morgan to work on some things and contribute to that team.  Perhaps it’s a battle between him and Oberholtzer for who sticks as a long-relief lefty.  And finally, Elvis Araujo was not doing well at all.  It will be good for him to get some regular work, perhaps some high-leverage spots, and get his mojo back.  I enjoy watching the big lefty–he’s perhaps the biggest human I’ve ever stood next to–so for now, giddy-up!

See you at the park,
