In case you haven’t heard, the Philly Soul AFL (Arena Football League) team will play one of their regularly scheduled home games at the PPL Center this summer as their normal home, the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, will be undergoing renovations for the Democratic National Convention.
Earlier this year, we learned that the Soul will conduct a similar game in Trenton, during the same time period. The date of the game in Allentown is Saturday, July 9. The IronPigs are on the road, and the SteelFC soccer team doesn’t play until the following day. In addition to the Soul game which starts at 6PM, there will be a game featuring the Wounded Warriors Amputee Football Team following–included with your Soul ticket.
The SteelHawks have had a close relationship with the Soul over the years, sharing in some training and scouting, and player personnel details. This is a great opportunity to further introduce the highest level of indoor football in the world to the fans in the Lehigh Valley.
SteelHawks GM Mike Clark tells me that the Soul plan to bring their own turf field, so we won’t get to see them play on the black and vegas gold the ‘Hawks normally use. Season ticket holders for both the ‘Hawks and the Soul have a pre-sale opportunity starting today; seating map and prices are attached below. In addition, season ticket holders for both the SteelHawks and the Soul will have a meet/greet with the teams the night before, on July 8.
Subsequent pre-sale opportunities from the PPL Center and the Phantoms start tomorrow, while sales to the general public start on Friday. Get in touch with me by email/social media if you’d like help ordering tickets. It’s a great opportunity to show how the Lehigh Valley supports its teams, as well as an opportunity to support the Warriors’ team afterwards!
