GAME DAY!

Remember, this game is on FRIDAY!  The Elmira Jackals–ECHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres–will be in Reading to face the Royals.  Elmira is 6 points behind Reading in the standings.

Location:  The Santander Arena in Reading PA.  Click HERE for the arena website.

Puck Drop:  7:05PM

Doors:  6:00PM

Directions and Parking:  CLICK HERE for map and directions.  I usually park in the garage on Franklin Street and walk across the street to the arena.  Parking is $5 the Royals site says, but the last two times I was there, no one collected it.  I never had a problem parking at the Santander.  The arena web site says it may cost $8-$12 on event nights, depending on location.

Tickets:  We’ve got you covered.  Of course, you can arrange for your own seats, but if you’d like to save some money and sit with Phantoms Phans, FOLLOW THIS LINK for group-rate tickets in either the Purple or Silver zones.  The tickets are $17 for Purple and $13 for Silver.  The only fee attached is a $2 per order (not per ticket).  To get tickets, follow THIS LINK and order them yourself.

Thursday Update:  Links above have been repaired to click straight through to the order page.  Or, you can go to the group sales link on the Royals site and use the promo code ‘Phan’ –Tickets will then be distributed at ‘Will Call’ when you arrive on Friday.  We have until 4:30PM Friday, when the link will close.

Our Royals rep for the event is Derrick, at (610)-898-7216.  Or you can contact me at Kramof209 (at) gmail, or via Twitter (@Kram209) or FaceBook (Kram Two-Ohnine).   Look, there are way fewer phans going than I expected, so RISE UP and let’s show Reading some support.

Promotion:  It’s “Hunger Games” night.  Plus, there’s a post-game “Ham Shoot.”  I know, right?

  • Watch to see if Reading Fan Favorite Tifu is in the lineup.
  • Check out the Xfinity Sky Lounge and Stoudt’s Bar above sections 108 and 109.
  • Check out the concessions–they have some different stuff.  A map is below:

  1. Note To Kram :

So long as we’ve checked in on the progress of the two former Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing pro hockey in Sweden this week, it only stands to reason that we should have something to say about a Reading Royals standout from last season who is now playing in Europe this term, as well.

Adam Hughesman (5’11” 184 lbs), the undrafted 24-year-old left wing who was Reading’s second-leading scorer (69 ga, 23 go, 67 pts) last season, is currently leading the entire Italian first division in scoring this fall; Hughesman, who spent ten days on loan to and appeared in three AHL games for the eventual Calder Cup champion Manchester Monarchs last January, has 12 goals and 32 points in 16 games for Serie A side SSI Vipiteno/Sturzing.

Also skating for an Italian club this season is former Lehigh Valley Phantoms defenseman Brett Flemming, the 5th round pick of the Washington Capitals at the 2009 NHL Draft who skated in 37 AHL games (0 go, 5 pts, 39 pen, + 2 def) for the Allentown-based club and also appeared in 26 ECHL games (9 go, 23 pts, 13 pen, + 11 def) for Reading last term; Flemming currently turns out for HC Bolzano, the historically-successful team from the South Tyrolean Alps that has won 19 Italian Serie A titles in the past but now finds itself skating in the Austrian first division for a third-consecutive year.
