Buchanan should be like a cool drink on a hot day for the struggling ‘Pigs rotation. But then, that’s none of my concern. 😉

With the IronPigs leading the International League in walks–118 to Rochester’s 94–it’s good to see that the rotation could get some help over the coming week. Nothing’s guaranteed–and the new/old faces might be just as bad. But when you’re 6-19 it’s worth it to give anything a try.
First, RHP David Buchanan will return to the ‘Pigs from the Phillies via option. Chad “Results” Billingsley will take his place in the rotation on Tuesday. “Buck” had been struggling a bit this season with the Phils, so a chance to work on some things at AAA could be good for him. He’s currently scheduled to pitch for the ‘Pigs Wednesday in Louisville. LHP Elvis Araujo was called from Reading to take Buck’s spot with the Phillies.
After his start–and first MLB win–yesterday in Miami, RHP Severino Gonzalez was returned to the IronPigs via option. A move will need to be made to make room for both pitchers as I believe we’re currently at the maximum.
I’ll post a printable roster and the corresponding moves as they are announced. For now, here are the projected starters for the upcoming IronPigs games. Another footnote is that Sean O’Sullivan may need to make a rehab appearance, but the schedule would put that on Thursday–when the ‘Pigs are off, as will as the Reading team. I’m predicting Lakewood.
Monday: Joely Rodriguez (Louisville)
Tuesday: Jason Berken (Louisville)
Wednesday: David Buchanan (Louisville)
Thursday: Off
Friday: Phillippe Aumont (this would be Severino’s turn) (Home)
Saturday: Adam Morgan (Home)
See you at the park (in Reading?),
