With a shortage of Leftys at the MLB and AAA level, the IronPigs activate LHP Nick Hill from the DL this morning.
Nick appeared in 18 games for AA Jackson last season, and 11 games with one start for AAA Tacoma in the PCL. He averaged just under an inning per outing at AAA and had questionable stats: 0-2, 9.90 ERA, .341 BAA. However, it was a small sample and there were a couple other oddities in his 10 innings of AAA work: 3 hit batsmen, 12 BB, 8 K.
He as drafted in 2007 in the seventh round out of the United States Military Academy. He’s not been to the Majors, and scouting reports suggest that he has an excellent change-up. He will wear number 38 with the IronPigs.
In other moves, RHP Adam Reifer was activated from the Temporary Inactive List and granted his release.
