IronPigs Transaction: Relief Is On The Way

After 29 innings in the past two days–many of them pitched by actual pitchers–the IronPigs ‘pen is severely depleted.  Reports are that there were guys–pitchers–willing to go into the game last night to help the IronPigs get the win in the 15th and 16th innings, but manager Dave Brundage thought better of it.  DH Russ Canzler finished the game on the mound.  Paul Clemens will be on the hill tonight to start, but may not be completely stretched out.

I’m not sure if he’s in the back seat of a Town Car or the passenger seat of an intern’s AMC Pacer, but Mike Nesseth is on his way to support the IronPigs bullpen.  He didn’t pitch for Reading over the weekend in Portland, Maine.  The Reading team is in New Hampshire tonight.

Nesseth will wear uniform number 27.  Updated, printable roster below.  No corresponding move because O’Sullivan went up and Jimenez hasn’t come through the DFA yet–he’s cleared waivers and been assigned, but not added to the roster.  (credit: Greg Joyce)
