Phantoms Season Ticket News, Other Notes

Big news for Phantoms’ season ticket holders:  Our ticket packages are ready!

ticket pick up

Well, almost ready….like in another week or so…like 5 days before we really need them.

But it’s cool.  I’m glad they’re making an event of it.  I look forward to checking out Chickie’s and Pete’s and perhaps enjoying some of the NFL games on the TVs.  I am curious about the form of the tickets.  Wilkes-Barre/Scranton fans received nicely hard-bound ticket books.  Take a look:

Other notes:

  • Mike Marcou, Domenic Mondardo, Sean Wiles, David Marshall and Brett Flemming were sent to ECHL Reading.  Marshall, Mondardo and Wiles subsequently accepted invites to AHL camp with the Springfield Falcons (Columbus).
  • Young defenseman and top pick Sam Morin was sent back to his junior team in Canada.  He’s 19, so too young to join the AHL Phantoms.  Some had thought the big guy would get more of a look with the big Flyers–he could have had a 9-game “tryout” spin–but the Sr Hextall is sticking to his guns:  Young guys won’t be rushed.
  • The Flyers have waived, for the purpose of assigning to the AHL Phantoms, G Rob Zepp, F Chris VandeVelde and Winger Jay Rosehill.  They are not in the lineup for the Phantoms tonight, but should be available for tomorrow night’s game at the PPL Center.  Additional players should be sent to Reading shortly.
  • Two of those players are the Goaltenders from the game tonight (Friday):  Ouellette and Knapp.
  • To Fight or Not To Fight:  Some big-time fighters on this Phantoms team!  More news on that soon–and I like a good hockey fight as much as the next guy–but I’m not sure I want us killing penalties all season long.
  • I’ll try to have a roster, with uniform numbers, posted and available to print, in advance of tomorrow’s game. After all, it’s more fun to cheer when you know who the players are, right?  Part of our mission here, and we haven’t seen a roster or program either online or at the PeoPLe Center as of yet.

Stay tuned!

  1. I stopped Downtown on the way home from Whitehall today (4) hoping to catch Bert at Philly Pretzel (he wasn’t there), and a mess of folks were gathering in Chickie’s & Pete’s outside entry… guessing they were staff awaiting a dry run of the place before the official opening… they’re getting there.
