NPF Softball Returns to Lehigh Valley!

Our friend Keith Groller posted this today:

“The New York/New Jersey Comets have announced two home games to be played at Coca-Cola Park, home of The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The games will be played on Wednesday, June 19th, and Thursday, June 20th, at 7:00 PM against the Akron Racers.

Michael Neuwirth, Owner/General Manager for the Comets, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing Professional Softball to the Lehigh Valley Area for the first time this summer. We are very much looking forward to connecting with fans at the stadium and hope that this will be a great opportunity for the Comets to solidify a presence in the region.”

This is great news! I loved the Philly Force and this could be our chance to get a team back in the Valley!

Looking at the Owner’s statement, “a great opportunity for the Comets to solidify a presence in the region” and seeing the team association as NY/NJ… I think if we support this team it could easily become the Lehigh Valley Comets!

Let’s show some support for this team!

I did a little snooping around, National Pro Fastpitch’s website is still on my Favorites list, and found the Comet’s website.

In fact, you can already purchase tickets via their website!

The two games at Coca Cola Park are:

Wednesday June 19th at 7:00PM
Comets vs. Akron Racers
Coca Cola Park, Allentown,

Thursday June 20th at 7:00PM
Comets vs. Akron Racers
Coca Cola Park, Allentown, PA

Tickets appear to be General Admission only, first come first serve and $12 each for (as listed) ages 3 and up.

Good time folks! The Comets ownership is testing the waters. Let’s turn out and show them the Lehigh Valley is a premier city in supporting professional sports!

2010 NPF Draft Held Yesterday

The National Pro Fastpitch 2010 draft was held last night, noteably missing any representation from our Philly Force. I am sad to ask that even if the Force organization does pull itself together, really what kind of team will be fielded? With veteran players moving on in their lives, top stars signing with other NPF teams and missing out on the talent pool of the draft, I really don’t see a quality team out there this summer.

Great times in 09… Not too hopeful for 10.

Philly Force Update 02/01/2010

Comment received on our former site in regards to the 2010 NPF season:

We are indeed planning on competing. The team was sold to a new owner in August who ran into problems withhis anticipated financing. The costs of maintaining a first class organization costs seven figures. We have the Greatest fans in the NPF. We will refund any season tickets purchased for 2010 season if wedo not play. We are indeed havingour share of arguments with the NPF but the reason we arenot on the schedule is $$. We hope to have it resolved one way or the other in next 2-3 weeks. Please support us by purchasing merchandice and send your comments in.

As has been said many many times before “May theForce be with you!

Better news Force Fans!! Let’s get out there and support our team!
